  • Troubleshooting malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment and test mechanical mechanisms and electronic circuitry for “root cause” failures.
  • Perform hands-on repair for malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment, and tests assembly for conformance, in accordance to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically, with some international travel, 50% to 80% of the time annually, to provide repair support to our Customers. This will include being away for up to a full week at a time as and when required.
  • Provide the customer with phone and email recommendations to resolve lab instrument issues and or follow up with on-going issues with the customer. This may include, but is not limited to; sending replacement parts, referring the information to the main home office for further guidance, or performing an on-site resolution.

Reporting to the Machining and Fabrication Supervisor, this is an entry level position. The Fabricator will fabricate parts from various sheet metals, plastics, gasket material, and other materials.

About the Role: Reporting to the Machining and Fabricating Supervisor, this position will support the tool and die maintenance and sharpening needs for multiple stamping lines and punching machines. This position will also be responsible to safely setup and troubleshoot new and custom tools in punch presses.

Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate a precision Surface Grinder
  • Mechanical ability to disassemble/ assemble punch press tooling for sharpening applications
  • Inspection of tooling to ensure it conforms to dimensional and surface finish specifications after grinding
  • Install, test punch and troubleshoot press tooling
  • Safely setup operators and tools for coil feed and single hit production lines

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years general industrial environment experience or a successful graduate of any recognized apprenticeship, or vocational program

We are looking for a Testing Technician. This position will perform the Acceptance Testing process to verify Testers were assembled correctly and will perform as intended. Troubleshoot and repair any issues encountered during the process and document NCE’s to continuously improve quality and reliability.

  • Perform Acceptance Testing process approved by Product Engineer
  • Duties involve working from test procedures, specifications, mechanical and electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Prepare Testers for startup and test
  • Finish any wiring or assembly operations necessary before connecting power and water lines
  • Check manual operations and safety devices
  • Check for leaks and make necessary repairs

  • Check for proper components, tags, and programming of Tester

  • Summarize and report issues encountered to Assembly, Quality, and R&D personnel
  • Ensure Acceptance Testing process is completed in a timely manner in order to maintain workflow and meet required ship dates
  • The Acceptance Testing Team will need to adopt a flexible work schedule to avoid production bottlenecks
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to improve quality & reliability.

What you will be doing:

What we are looking for:

  • Scientific background or affinity is required

    Have a good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel

Q-Lab is currently seeking a Panel Line Production Employee. Reporting to the Panel Production Supervisor, this position will be responsible for production and packaging of our standard and specialty produced panels. The position will require the use of heavy machinery and the ability to operate a forklift.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assure the appropriate counts of panels for packaging
  • Continually and consistently inspecting the quality of each product
  • Detect and report unusual or defective materials to the supervisor
  • Making boxes and printing description labels
  • Placing product securely into packaging, seal and palletize cases
  • Use of heavy machinery, including but not limited to: Surface Grinder, 20ton and 35ton Bliss Press, Shears, Brakes, Slip Rollers, and Sand Blaster
