Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment and test mechanical mechanisms and electronic circuitry for “root cause” failures.
  • Perform hands-on repair for malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment, and tests assembly for conformance, in accordance to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically, with some international travel, 50% of the time annually, to provide repair support to our Customers. This will include being away for up to a full week at a time as and when required
  • Provide the customer with phone and email recommendations to resolve lab instrument issues and or follow up with on-going issues with the customer. This may include, but is not limited to; sending replacement parts, referring the information to the main home office for further guidance, or performing an on-site resolution.

Requirements:

  • Recognized Electrical or Mechanical Qualification with apprenticeship and 5 years work experience
  • Work experience with technical equipment preferably in a laboratory setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competent to read and interpret documents, instructions and manuals
  • Diplomacy and tact in reporting NCE (non conforming events) to management – with urgency
  • English is the required language – Foreign languages helpful

Reporting to the Director of Quality and Reliability, the successful candidate will be responsible for final inspection and acceptance of all incoming materials and our manufactured product prior to shipment. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple ongoing tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Investigates quality and/or design issues and makes recommendations to the appropriate department for resolution.
  • Preforms failure analysis on non-conforming electronic assemblies down to the component level to determine the root cause.
  • Records, summarizes and communicates root cause analysis including the type and quantity of defect to quality and engineering for further investigation and preventative action purposes.
  • Inspection of electronic first article submissions.
  • Testing of R&D electronic prototypes
  • Connects electronic assembly, component, or part to test instruments, such as ohmmeter, voltmeter, ammeter, Resistance Bridge, or oscilloscope, or to automatic or computerized test equipment.
  • Read instrument dial or scope, or observes viewing screen, that indicates resistance, capacitance, continuity, or wave pattern and recognizes defects, such as short circuit or current leakage.
  • Repairs printed circuit boards or electronic subassemblies to the component level.
  • Compares instrument reading or displays with standards and rejects defective units.
  • Records type and quantity of defect for new and used electronic parts and other parts as required.
  • Examines assembly, component, or part for defects, trouble shoots and replaces defective components or repairs defective wiring after testing.
  • Inspect and test incoming RMA parts for evaluation and crediting purposes (as required).
  • Diagnose malfunctioning instruments or test equipment and examines and tests mechanisms and circuitry for failure mode.
  • Replaces or repairs defective parts according to OEM specifications.
  • Inspects instruments and test equipment periodically and adjusts calibration to ensure functioning within specified standards.
  • Calibrates instruments or test equipment according to established standards.
  • Other duties as required.

We Require:

  • Soldering certification, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 (recommended but not required)
  • High School Diploma or Trade School Diploma and an Associate's degree (A. S.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school graduate with six months to one year related experience with board level repair (through hole and surface mount technology), lead and lead-free soldering.
  • Advanced mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions or procedure manuals.
  • Ability to discriminate between different colors.
  • Microsoft Office software to include Word, Excel and Power Point and must possess the ability to type on a keyboard, smartphone, or laptop/tablet proficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs preventive maintenance (PM) and inspections.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance/repairs of production support and facility equipment, i.e. Air Compressors, Forklifts, HVAC

A dedicated, dynamic Digital Marketing Coordinator is needed for Q-Lab’s Marketing Communications team. This is a fast-paced, multi-faceted position that requires organization and communication at a very high level. A love for Hubspot is a major plus!

The position will support the Senior Digital Marketing Specialist and Global Marketing Communications Manager with digital asset management, website maintenance, and the development and execution of campaigns and online events.

In this position, you will: 

  • Serve as a power user in Q-Lab’s Marketing Automation Software (Hubspot)
  • Set up, test, and publish landing pages, forms, workflows, and email campaigns for global marketing events, including seminars, webinars, and on-site training using Hubspot

Software Developer’s Scope of Responsibility:

 

  • Analyzes business problems and suggests ways of applying software solutions to solve them.
  • Produces software for web, database, and client server environments. Also produces Q-Lab’s firmware, which controls the brain of our weathering testers.
  • Uses Microsoft Visual Studio (Winforms, ASP.NET, .NET Framework, VB .NET, C#) to develop front-ends and business logic.
  • Uses Microsoft SQL Server to design, modify, and write business logic for databases.
  • Uses Crystal Reports and SSRS Reporting Services to develop reports.
  • Uses Attolic (an Eclipse variant) and C to develop firmware.
  • Follows Q-Lab’s standard development practices and techniques.
  • Works on front office (e.g. Sales, Repair, Marketing), back office (e.g. Accounting, Purchasing, Order Desk) and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) software.
  • Writes business requirements and technical specification documents.

Q-Lab is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler. Reporting to our Manufacturing Supervisor, this position builds the mechanical components of our testers for shipping worldwide. Although this position is currently 1st shift, employees may be required to work 2nd shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing software to work with Q-Lab testers, devices, sensors, and other peripherals.
